As a student, my day is chock-full of detail-oriented work and plenty of presentations so my mind is usually boggled by the time I get home, being the introvert that I am :P. For those purposes, I developed a routine that usually makes me feel better and helps me unwind, here's a list of 5+:
- Fuzzy Slippers, Fuzzy sweatpants, and a date night with the couch. With this pairing you can't go wrong. Especially on those days when your toes-ies are tired from walking. Nothing soothes them like a fuzzy pair of slippers. My go-to's are my furry red moccasins.
- Youtube: I have my list of favorite vloggers I follow so they are usually my go-to if I haven’t had too much listening that day or possibly my go-to playlist of songs.
- Of course there's the DVR for the shows I missed while at school or otherwise preoccupied. I'm currently obsessed with Scorpion. Something so adorable about smart guys. :) I'll also make a list of my top TV shows I watch in another blog.
- Popcorn & candy: went to the grocery store and stocked up on Easter candy, love trying new combinations of things and all the new weird snack combinations chip companies and candy companies come out with there's an endless list of food adventures. Tried this new caramel, chocolate seasoning on my popcorn. Pretty good but I’ll post an in-depth review on here later of that. And omg...the peeps! Heaven!
- Something super creative and yet completely unrelated to school: if I feel like talking I make a random vlog for myself where I just act completely silly, if I feel like writing I come up with things to write about or I journal my feelings, make crafts: lately making things out of puffy paint because it’s so hard to resist the pull of neon puffy paint… something so mesmerizing about it.
6. Of course, there's always the option of calling up an old friend and chatting about life to de-stress. Especially since laughter is definitely the best medicine. But let's face it, sometimes we want our space and our heads are swimming with everything so the tips 1-5 will work perfectly for those reclusive moments.
Hope this list has inspired you to find something fun to do with your downtime. :)
